In Chinese and Japanese culture, the rabbit holds the fourth position in the Zodiac. According to a famous tale, the Yellow Emperor hosted a grand celebration in his palace and assigned a place in the Zodiac to each animal that could attend. The agile rabbit secured the fourth position among the twelve symbols by cleverly crossing the river, hopping on stones, and a floating log. This same enchanting background inspired Ginori to create the decoration for this box.
